Danbury Colonials forward Scot Lawson has officially announced his commitment to Stony Brook University for the 2020-21 school year.
Lawson joined the Colonials in January, scoring in just his second game with the team against the Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles. The Massapequa, NY native will be bringing a combination of size and skill to the Stony Brook Seawolves, coming in at 6’1, 200 lbs.
“Being able to add Scot to our lineup in January was fantastic,” commented head coach Kevin Cunningham. “He was the consummate team player from the first day he pulled a Colonials jersey over his head.”
“The guys welcomed me in like I had been there all year, and so did the coaches,” Lawson explained. “The entire building and Colonials staff is devoted to developing players and helping them get to the next level.”
“I would have loved to have seen what Scotty would have done for us in the playoffs,” Cunningham lamented. “Stony Brook has a lot of reasons to be excited about his addition this fall!”
