KOVALEV STAYS HOT IN ROAD LOSS

NEW LONDON, CT – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (18-12-1-3, 40 pts) nearly pulled off a two-goal comeback, ultimately falling 3-2 against the Norwich Sea Captains (6-4-4-0, 16 pts).

A single first-period goal from Norwich stood on its own until Dylan Walker tied the game with his 12th goal of the season. Eryk Fancher recorded an assist on Walker’s tally.

Norwich responded with two more goals in the late second and middle of the third. Danbury fought back, firing 16 shots on goal in the final frame.

Nikita Kovalev scored late to make it a one goal game with Walker and Cooper Betancourt picking up assists. Danbury’s late surge wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.

The Jr. Hat Tricks head to Long Beach to face the Sharks (19-11-1-3, 42 pts) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
