DANBURY, CT – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (16-11-1-3, 36 pts) defeated the Norwich Sea Captains (4-23-4-0, 12 pts) 6-2 on Thursday afternoon.

Nikita Kovalev led the way for Danbury for the third-straight game, recording a multi-goal game in all three contests.

The forward scored his 26th and 27th goals of the season on Thursday with two highlight-reel plays. For the second-straight game, he flew through an entire defense to score a breakaway goal on a power play. His second goal came as he steamrolled through a defenseman and placed the puck through the legs of Norwich goaltender Andrew Yocum.

Kovalev’s four-point performance on Thursday gives him eight goals and 11 points over his last three games.

The Hat Tricks also received offensive contributions from Seth Beagle, Dylan Walker, Dominic Powilatis and Jacob Deitsch.

Newly acquired Martins Leps made his Hat Tricks debut on Thursday, recording three assists in the win.

The Hat Tricks are back in action with a home-and-home against Long Beach this weekend beginning at Long Beach on Saturday at 4 p.m.
