LONG BEACH, NY – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (12-11-0-3, 27 pts) travel to New York to take on the Long Beach Sharks (16-7-1-1, 34 pts) on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The Jr. Hat Tricks enter play on Saturday having won three of their last five games. Two of the three wins came on shutouts from goaltender Brennan Churchill.
Overall, Churchill is 5-2-0-1 with a .945 save percentage. He has played in eight games and recorded three shutouts for Danbury.
“He’s [Churchill] a special player and brings a very mature presence to our lineup and our room,” said head coach Tyler Noseworthy.
“This past game in Jersey, he was finally human. It was bound to happen eventually. I know his response tomorrow will be great. He’s a leader on the team and we are lucky to have him.”
Danbury’s leading scorer, Nikita Kovalev, has netted 19 goals and 32 points this season. Elijah Devereaux has been a catalyst as well, setting up 17 Danbury goals this season.
Dylan Walker has been an effective addition for the Hat Tricks, playing nine games and recording 13 points. Walker was recently called up to play a game for the NAHL Jr. Hat Tricks.
Long Beach enters as the second-place team in the NA3HL East Division. The Sharks are led by Tyler Zembrzycki’s 24 points. Jake Weikel is the Sharks leading goal-scorer with 15.
