DANBURY, CT – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (1-5-0-0) host the Bay State Bobcats (1-4-0-1) tonight in Danbury Arena.
On Friday night, the Hat Tricks dropped a contest to the Long Beach Sharks 10-6 on home ice. The game featured a seven-goal second period, two short-handed goals and multiple power-play goals.
“The other team wanted it more than we did,” said Head Coach Tyler Noseworthy after Friday’s loss. “Simple as that. Without the will compete for 60 minutes, success will be hard to come by.”
The Jr. Hat Tricks lone win of the season came on the road against Bay State, winning 3-1 on Sept. 22. In the game, the Hat Tricks were outshot 60-30, but goaltender Liam McGibbon was spectacular. McGibbon stopped 59 of 60 shots in the game to spring the Tricks to victory.
Bay State skated against Norwich last night, dropping that contest 6-3.
The Bobcats are led by Ian Skinner, who has 4 goals and 6 points in the first six games of the season. In Saturday’s loss to Norwich, Skinner netted a goal, but Jace Desmarais set the pace for Bay State. Desmarais scored twice and leads the team with five goals this season.
Bay State has lost five straight games after winning its first of the season. The Bobcats have been outscored 19-7 in those four losses.
Tickets are available at danburyhattricksna3.com for tonight’s 7 p.m. puck drop. The game will be available to watch on HockeyTV.
