DANBURY, CT – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (19-13-1-3, 42 pts) used a three-goal first period to defeat the New Jersey Titans (14-20-1-0, 29 pts) 5-2 at home on Friday night.

Nick Rogers returned from injury and it took just 1:09 for him to return to the scoresheet as well. Rogers’ 19th of the season came from Reno Parker (6) in his Hat Tricks debut.

Two of the Hat Tricks’ three NA3HL Top Prospects participants combined to strike almost halfway through the first as Dylan Walker scored his 14th from Elijah Devereaux (22).

Jacob Deitsch was able to tip in a late power-play goal in the first from Walker (11) and Martins Leps.(16).

Rogers (20) and Walker (16) both capped off two-goal nights in the second for the Hat Tricks to take a 5-0 lead.

Jersey got two goals from Ryan Kenna and Ryan Miller after the Hat Tricks took the 5-0 lead, but the Hat Tricks held on in the third to complete the victory.

Lorenzo Rossi made 25 saves to record his sixth win of the season. The Hat Tricks have recorded at least a point in all of Rossi’s seven starts.

The win came at a cost, however, as both Eryk Fancher and Reese Tamburo left the game with injuries.

“We keep facing adversity, it keeps knocking on our door,” said head coach Tyler Noseworthy. “But we keep answering, so I think it’s only going to make us a better team in the long run.”

The Hat Tricks are back in action on Saturday against Northeast in Danbury Arena. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. and can be seen on Hockey TV.
