MIDDLETOWN, NJ – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (8-9-0-1) used a three-goal second period to secure a 5-2 win over the New Jersey Titans (9-9-0-0) on Wednesday.

Danbury was led by Nikita and Ivan Kovalev in the win. The brothers combined for five points and three goals, with all three goals coming consecutively. A Kovalev figured in all five Hat Tricks goals on Wednesday.

The Jr. Hat Tricks scored five-straight goals to begin the game, not conceding a goal until the third period.

Dylan Walker scored his first goal for the Hat Tricks to start the scoring, while Gennaro DeMaio made 21 of 23 saves in his first game for Danbury.

“That was the most complete game we’ve had so far this year,” said head coach Tyler Noseworthy. “Very proud of that performance today. DeMaio played well in his first game with us between the pipe.”

“Dylan Walker played really well in his first game, as well,” Noseworthy added. “He adds a lot of poise and veteran style play for our team. Great win, short memory and onto the next one. We are looking to keep this train rolling.”

Danbury is back in action for two games this weekend, traveling to Long Beach on Saturday and hosting Bay State on Sunday night.
