DANBURY,CT – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (1-4-0-0) host the Long Beach Sharks (3-2-0-0) tonight in Danbury Arena at 7 p.m.
The Jr. Hat Tricks have not played since last Friday, September 24 against the same Long Beach team. The Sharks took the contest 5-3.
The Jr. Hat Tricks are led by Daniel Khatib (’03), who leads the squad with five goals and six points in the first five games of the season.
In the game on Friday, the Jr. Hat Tricks were lifted by the arrivals of two newcomers into the lineup.
In their first game as Hat Tricks, Oleg Egorov (’04) netted a goal and an assist while Egor Sheheglov (’04) assisted on one of the three Jr. Hat Tricks goals.
“We have added some very strong additions to our line up recently, with more in the works,” said Head Coach Tyler Noseworthy. “I’m very happy with how the team has handled adversity thus far and I’m very excited about the direction we are moving in. I will be challenging my guys this weekend and I will expect nothing less than two W’s.”
Long Beach sits in second place in the East Division with six points. Danbury’s two points put the Hat Tricks in sixth. A strong weekend could catapult the Hat Tricks up in the division standings.
The Sharks have played two games since the Sept. 24 meeting in Danbury, splitting two games against the Norwich Sea Captains. Jake Weikel scored in the win against Norwich and currently leads the team with four tallies and six points.
