JR. HAT TRICKS FORCE DECISIVE GAME 3

DANBURY, CT – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks forced a Game 3 with a 3-1 win over the Northeast Generals on Saturday night.

Danbury was led all night by goaltender Brennan Churchill. He made 46 saves throughout the game, including 19 in the second period. After allowing a goal at the end of the first period, Churchill made 32 saves on 32 shots over the final 40 minutes.

Northeast took a 1-0 lead into the second, but Danbury drew an early penalty 20 seconds into the second period.

It took 13 seconds for Reese Tamburo to convert on the power play and tie the game up for the Hat Tricks.

The game remained in a stalemate until 4:45 remained in regulation and Nick Rogers took over. He skated hard to the net and roofed a shot into the top of the cage to give Danbury its first lead of the night. With 1:05 remaining, Rogers iced the game for Danbury with an empty-net goal. Rogers has six goals in four playoff games so far in the 2021-22 postseason.

Danbury became the first East Division team to beat Northeast all season on Saturday night. Previously, the Generals were 46-0-0 this season against teams in the division.

Game 3 will be on Sunday afternoon in Attleboro. Danbury will need to win to advance to the league finals in St. Louis.
